November 25, 2009 - Last week the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs began consideration of draft legislation that would, among other things, require many advisers to hedge funds or other private investment companies to register under the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 (the "Advisers Act"), to the extent they are not already so registered.
