Richard Sharpstein is Chair of the Criminal & White Collar Defense Practice Team. He is a seasoned trial lawyer, concentrating on the representation of individuals and corporations in diverse and complex criminal and civil litigation, in both federal and state court, in Florida and across the nation. Though Mr. Sharpstein's practice focuses on white collar criminal defense he has tried hundreds of cases across the spectrum of criminal defense, civil fraud and civil rights litigation. He has achieved widespread recognition representing individuals in high profile and complex cases, including corporate executives, politicians, international bankers, police officers and other public figures, as well as individuals involved in highly-charged trials in south Florida and throughout the country.

Mr. Sharpstein has been recognized by his peers in "The Best Lawyers in America", since 1998; "The Top Lawyers in South Florida", since its inception in 1999, "Who's Who in American Law", for decades and is an invited member of the select "Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers". Mr. Sharpstein is an active member in the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and is the former President of the Florida Chapter of the Association. He served as an Assistant State's Attorney, in Dade County, Florida, prosecuting major crimes and political corruption cases. Mr. Sharpstein has been invited to lecture at many seminars involving his practice field, including seminars in trials of high profile cases and relationships between journalists and attorneys.

Mr. Sharpstein has served as an Adjunct Professor in Trial Advocacy at the University of Miami, and has been a guest lecturer at the St. Thomas School of Law in Miami, Florida.
