Anthony Cicchetti practices in the areas of reinsurance, insurance regulation, and general corporate and business law. He is chair of Jorden Burt's Insurance & Reinsurance Transactional Practice Team. Mr. Cicchetti's practice also extends to litigation matters, where he collaborates with Firm attorneys in the analysis of reinsurance, insurance, corporate, and business law issues and the development of litigation strategies for the Firm's clients. In addition to matters involving insurance and reinsurance, he has worked with clients in a broad range of commercial activities, including acquisitions and divestitures, transnational business transactions, joint ventures, pricing and distribution of products and services, corporate finance and securities matters, and general commercial agreements.

• Counsel to reinsurer and affiliates in cessions and retrocessions of life product risks involving entities operating in the United States, Asia, Europe, and Bermuda.
• Counsel to reinsurer in structuring, documenting, and negotiating non-traditional security arrangements for reinsurance transactions.
• Counsel to cedent life insurer in structuring and documentation of reinsurance treaties, including consideration of risk transfer and related regulatory issues.
• Counsel to insurer in connection with purchase of money management firm and related private equity interests.

Litigation/Dispute Resolution

• Counsel to ceding insurer in dispute with reinsurer over performance of reinsurance agreement obligations.
• Representation of life insurer in structuring, negotiation, documentation, and implementation of class action settlement concerning annuity products.
• Counsel to reinsurer in dispute concerning treaty covering block of long-term care insurance risks.
• Representation of reinsurer in connection with a U.S. arbitration involving a multi-year program comprising treaties placed in the London Personal Accident reinsurance market.
• Representation of life insurer in defense of multiple individual actions concerning sales of annuity products.
• Representation of life insurer in defense of purported class action concerning sale of long-term care insurance policies.
• Special counsel to foreign insurer in connection with class action concerning claims arising from demutualization of company.
• Counsel to U.S. insurer and its parent company in foreign litigation involving U.S. insurance regulatory issues.
